Former Harrison bar-restaurant Bird Dog's on the market for $750,000
A prime piece of commercial real estate is for sale in Harrison.
Bird Dog’s Sports Bar & Grill, a 7,000-square-foot space along Freeport Road, is on the market.
The asking price is $749,900.
The restaurant opened at 2615 Freeport Road in October 2018 by township resident Bruce Daniels and his daughters. It seated about 100 and had a game room and 10 TVs.
Before opening as Bird Dog’s, the building operated for many years as the Do Drop Inn.
His daughter, Ashlie, is the listing agent for Century 21 American Heritage Realty. She and her father were unable to be reached for comment.
According to the online listing, the property is just more than a half-acre at the intersection of Freeport Road and Lengel Avenue. It is turnkey-ready, with a bar, restaurant and banquet hall. The lower level of the building has a hair salon and storage area.
The parking lot is paved with space for 60 vehicles. The business includes a liquor license and some restaurant equipment.
Estimated taxes for the property are about $10,000 a year.
In late 2021, a fire broke out in the restaurant’s back office and damaged the banquet hall.
At that time, Ashlie Daniels posted to Facebook: “What started out as an epic and amazing Christmas Party turned into quite a scary night.
“We had a fire in our office, which was contained thanks to our amazing customers who jumped in to help,” she posted.
