Cintas Corp. in the RIDC Park in O’Hara has signed a seven-year lease during which it will expand its space from about 5,000 square feet to nearly 10,000 square feet.

An O’Hara business that specializes in first aid, safety and cleaning supplies is expanding to nearly double its size in the township’s industrial park.

Cintas will move operations from a 5,000-square-foot facility along Alpha Drive in RIDC Park to one that’s nearly 10,000 square feet and just a few doors down. The company has signed a seven-year lease on the new property.

It was not clear how many jobs the expansion will create.

Company officials said the expansion will better support the needs of customers in the region and accelerate growth of the business, which was founded in Ohio in 1929 as the Acme Industrial Laundry Co.

Joe Bower, Cintas’ first aid and safety regional business director, said the company expects continued growth as the pandemic slowly comes to an end.

“Nothing is more important to businesses than the health and safety of their employees and customers,” Bower said.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Cintas serves more than 1 million businesses, from light manufacturing to large hotel chains.

“This business is a huge company, and it is a great fit for the park,” said Tim White, RIDC senior vice president.

“If you go into a factory or warehouse, there are cabinets full of first-aid and safety supplies. Those cabinets are some of what they provide, and they service many businesses at the park.”

RIDC Park, bisected by Route 28, opened in 1967. It has grown into a 3.75-million-square-foot hub of manufacturing that includes more than 130 companies.

“Seeing companies like Cintas stay and expand here is good news for the region,” RIDC President Donald Smith Jr. said.

Cintas moved into the township in 2017. The company also has facilities in Bridgeville.
