Case of missing Springdale man remains unsolved
Attempts to find a missing man in Harmar on Wednesday were unsuccessful, authorities say, and the investigation will return to the hands of Springdale police.
Sean Dugan, 58, was reported missing by Springdale police Monday.
That evening, Harmar police saw Dugan’s car, an Acura sedan, along Gulf Lab Road at the Bessemer Railroad entrance, according to township police Chief Jason Domaratz.
Officers searched the township Tuesday for Dugan throughout the township and in the Allegheny River.
Pittsburgh River Rescue searched the area Wednesday, but was unsuccessful in finding Dugan, Domaratz said.
“We used every resource we had to do the search in that area,” Domaratz said.
Springdale police will resume handling the investigation because Dugan is from there, and that’s where he was reported missing, Domaratz said.
Springdale police chief Derek Dayoub confirmed the investigation is still active and ongoing. He said he would attempt to contact state police to bring in a police dog that specializes in missing persons cases.
Dugan is described as a white man with short hair and a goatee.
Those with information about Dugan’s whereabouts should contact Springdale police at 724-274-9022.
