A Brackenridge church will be blessing firefighters on Saturday.

Fire departments are the focus of this year’s “Blessing of the First Responders” at Generations House of Worship, 1160 Parkside Drive.

The event will begin at 2 p.m. with a blessing over vehicles and equipment. The event is scheduled to run until 6 p.m.

Active first responders are invited to attend a free lunch in their honor. Pasta bar lunch tickets will otherwise cost $10 for adults and $5 for children; proceeds will be given to local fire departments.

Take out will be available.

Last year, the church gave more than $4,000 to local police departments.
