Two men and their mother are facing charges of trying to hide a fugitive.

Jessica Sue Thorpe, 39, Luke Robert Thorpe, 18, and Leroy William Thorpe, 22, all of Maple Terrace Lane, Avonmore, are accused of hindering the apprehension of Donald Thomas Phillips, 40, of Avonmore. A police affidavit states that Phillips is wanted for a probation violation.

Leroy William Thorpe also was charged with having four packets of heroin.

Police said the trio told them Phillips had left their house before police arrived at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said Jessica Thorpe gave them permission to search the house. Troopers said they found Phillips in an attic space accessed from a closet.

Phillips allegedly had four packets of heroin on him.

According to court records, a parole violation hearing was scheduled for Phillips.
