A New Kensington man pleaded guilty to the simple assault of his pregnant girlfriend last year and nearly a year later to ransacking the home of a former girlfriend in Monessen.

Jamar Al Gee Jr., 22, was ordered to serve up to two years on probation after he pleaded guilty Monday to charges in both cases.

Prosecutors dismissed a felony count of aggravated assault of an unborn child, the most serious offense Gee faced, and one charge of making terroristic threats.

Assistant District Attorney Jackie Knupp said Gee and his girlfriend have since reconciled and are parents to a baby girl. Police said Gee’s girlfriend was five months pregnant on Jan. 11, 2023, when he stormed into her New Kensington home, punched her repeatedly in the head and face, dragged her down a hallway and threatened to kill the unborn baby.

“Gee and the mother are back together, and she signed off on the plea agreement because that is what his fiancée wants, whether that is ill-advised or not,” Knupp said.

Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Scott Mears ordered Gee to serve two years on probation, complete anger management classes and have no abusive contact with his victim or the child.

In a separate case, Gee pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of theft, receiving stolen property in connection with an incident Dec. 7 in Monessen. Police said Gee and the woman argued, and he broke two televisions and an iPhone, stole Airpods and $50 in cash from her wallet.
