Oakmont’s annual Father’s Day car show will be held for the 65th time Sunday.

About 300 cars, trucks and motorcycles are expected to be on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the borough’s Riverside Park off Third Street, according to event treasurer Morgan McCollum.

Vehicles will be judged in 18 classes, and the People’s Choice Award is new this year, McCollum said.

Also new this year is the presence of a DJ — John Hohman — and concessions sponsored by the Riverview Athletic Association.

McCollum said this year’s event will live on in memory of two men who were instrumental in putting it on for years. The car show’s longtime organizer, Ray Rivers, died in January at 85. The event’s founder and organizer, Jim Eaton, died at 100 in August 2017.

For many, the annual Father’s Day event is a family tradition.

“My dad has been going to this car show since he was young with his dad,” McCollum said. “And so I’ve gone to this with my siblings every year since I was young. So it really is near and dear to our hearts.”
