A four-alarm fire in South Buffalo on Monday drew a dozen companies to a home on Collier Drive.

South Buffalo VFD Chief Zachary Wood said both residents of the home were safely evacuated, but the structure is a total loss.

Crews from Tarentum to West Kittanning responded to the blaze because of slim daytime staffing among the departments, Wood said.

“I credit everyone who came out,” he said.

First reported around 11:50 a.m., Armstrong County 911 dispatchers said the scene was cleared just before 2:15 p.m.

The blaze appeared to start in the home’s front living room, but Wood said he couldn’t speculate about its cause.
