Pittsburgh and University of Pittsburgh police are investigating an off-campus sex assault, according to a crime alert from the university.
According to the notice, university police assisted city police with the investigation in the 200 block of North Dithridge Street. The incident happened between midnight and 1 a.m. Saturday.
A Pittsburgh police spokesman said officers took a report about 2:45 a.m. at UPMC Mercy hospital. He could not say whether the victim is a Pitt student. An investigation is ongoing.
The assailant is described as an Asian male, college age, about 5 feet, 7 inches or 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He was wearing a red button-up Hawaiian-style shirt with khaki shorts. He identified himself as “Beck.”
