The third suspect in connection to a fatal stabbing in Pittsburgh was taken into custody in Greensburg on Saturday afternoon.

Pittsburgh police announced Saturday that Logan Smetanka, 20, was taken into custody by Greensburg police in connection to a March 22 stabbing that killed Marc Kovach, 37, at an abandoned house in Pittsburgh’s West End.

Smetanka was taken to the Westmoreland County jail and will be extradited to Allegheny County to be arraigned on homicide and criminal conspiracy charges, Pittsburgh police said.

Police have charged and arrested two other people in connection to the stabbing. Dominic Johnson, 19, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence. Johnson’s girlfriend, Carlena Wells, 18, was arrested and charged with criminal homicide and conspiracy.

Both Johnson and Wells were denied bond and are being held at the Allegheny County Jail.

With Smetanka’s arrest, Pittsburgh police believe they have arrested everyone involved.

Authorities did not list home addresses for the suspects.

A criminal complaint filed in the case said the crime occurred around March 16 at an abandoned house on Steuben Street.

A witness told police that Johnson and Smetanka began attacking Kovach because they were told Kovach was touching Wells, the criminal complaint said.

Johnson and Smetanka knocked Kovach unconscious and then Johnson dragged him outside, where they killed Kovach, the witness told police.

The witness said that Johnson, Smetanka and Wells said they “all participated in killing” Kovach, the complaint said.

When confronted by investigators, Smetanka said that Johnson had killed Kovach, and that Johnson told him to not tell anyone, the complaint said.

In a separate interview, Johnson denied participating in the attack, the complaint said.

The witness told police that Johnson said Wells stabbed Kovach in the forehead and face, and Johnson stabbed him in the stomach. The witness was unsure if Smetanka stabbed Kovach at all, but did say that Smetanka handed them the knife used to kill Kovach.

The witness said they were given the knife that was used, and that they washed it and threw it in the river, the complaint said. The witness also threw Johnson’s shoes in a dumpster.
