The Andy Warhol Bridge in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh’s Andy Warhol Bridge will close to traffic for a short time on Thanksgiving Day to make way for more than 6,000 runners in the 32nd annual YMCA Turkey Trot.

The bridge links the North Shore to Downtown at Seventh Street. It is scheduled to be closed from 7 to 11 a.m.

Other Downtown road closures will be required.

The family fun-run is known for participants donning festive costumes to tackle the 5K, 1-mile and 5-mile courses that cross the bridge and follow Fort Duquesne Boulevard to Commonwealth Place.

The event takes runners on North Shore Drive and finishes back at Mazeroski Way near PNC Park.

Proceeds benefit the YMCA food pantry program and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

In past years, participants have traveled from 40 states, Great Britain and Canada to trot in the Thanksgiving tradition.
