Pittsburgh police have arrested two suspects in connection with a Carrick shooting that left one man dead.

Maurice Nelson, 20, and Amier Windsor 17, each were charged Tuesday with criminal homicide, robbery and criminal conspiracy in the homicide that occurred Sunday in the 1900 block of Concordia Street.

Pelson and Windsor were also involved in the Monday afternoon police chase down Route 51 that ended when a car they were traveling crashed at a BP gas station near Woodruff Street, police said.

They were taken to the Allegheny County Jail. Nelson is awaiting arraignment; Windsor was arraigned and a preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 20.

Police were called to Carrick at approximately 6:45 a.m. Sunday for reports of shots heard. Responding officers found a man on the street with gunshot wounds to the face, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim Tuesday as Jacob Dienert, 21. Reached by phone Tuesday, Dienert’s mother declined to comment.

The investigation is ongoing.
