Pittsburgh police on Tuesday arrested a suspect in Shadyside’s second bank robbery in two days.
Police said they responded to reports of a robbery in progress just after 11:15 a.m. at a First National Bank branch in the 6000 block of Centre Avenue.
Rashon Coleman, 29, of Pittsburgh was arrested immediately upon exiting the bank, public safety spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
He is charged with four counts of robbery and two counts of theft by unlawful taking, online court documents show.
Charges stem from bank robberies Monday and Tuesday.
At about 4:20 p.m. Monday, Pittsburgh police from Zone 4 responded to a reported PNC Bank robbery in the 5900 block of Centre Avenue.
In that incident, a male, later identified as Coleman, “made a verbal demand for money from a teller and threatened that he had a weapon inside a plastic bag,” Cruz said. The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured.
Detectives are still investigating both incidents.
