Pine was awarded first place in newsletters for populations 5,000 and above by the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors for this year.

Township Manager Jason Kratsas announced the achievement during the April 7 supervisors meeting.

Pine also finished second in websites. The township placed third for its winter program guide.

Kratsas congratulated members of the communications team for their efforts.

“I’m really excited. This year, we’re just starting that up. As we start getting that together, I’m excited to see where we go. Kudos to Jadyn; kudos to the whole team. Any time we win a communications award, I think it’s important to us because you all have set the culture that communications are critical,” Kratsas said.

Kratsas also remarked on how far the team has come with regards to the township’s communications.

“I couldn’t be more happy with how we’ve progressed. We went from just a couple-page newsletter to something truly professional.”
