One person was taken to the hospital after a fire early Wednesday in Baldwin, according to an Allegheny County 911 shift commander.

Crews responded to the fire on Curry Hollow Road around 12:30 a.m.

The person escaped from the home but was hospitalized with unspecified injuries, according to Tribune-Review news partners WPXI-TV.

Part of the house collapsed in the fire, which is believed to have started in the basement.
