A man was handcuffed and taken in an ambulance from the scene of a SWAT standoff Wednesday night in Baldwin Township, according to WPXI-TV.

According to the station, township police said a mental health warrant was issued for the man, who barricaded himself in an apartment on McNeilly Road after engaging in a dispute with a repairman.

A section of the road was blocked off in the community’s business district as police used a loudspeaker to communicate with the man, the station reported.

Allegheny County Police said they provided an armored vehicle and an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team in support of a South Hills Area Council of Governments Critical Incident Response Team that was deployed.

The six-hour standoff came to an end at about 10 p.m.

Additional details weren’t immediately available.
