A Swissvale teen suffered a gunshot wound Saturday after police said someone fired a shotgun in the apartment below during a domestic dispute.

Allegheny County Police said they were notified of a domestic call on the 2300 block of Woodstock Ave. at approximately 4:30 p.m.

A man inside a residence fired a shotgun and struck a 17-year-old female who was located in a residence above the dispute, according to first responders. The victim was transported to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury to her arm.

Police identified Shawn Bennett, 34, as the person who fired the weapon.

Bennett fled before law enforcement arrived.

Authorities believe Bennett may be driving an older model white Ford SUV — possibly an Explorer or Expedition — with blue rear rimes and a license plate LDZ-3027.

County police detectives are investigating with the assistance from the county medical examiner’s office and the mobile crime unit.

Anyone with information regarding this incident should call the County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
