Shaler commissioners keep leadership during reorganization meeting

The Shaler commissioners held their reorganization meeting on Jan. 3, swearing in new and reelected officials for their upcoming terms.

At the start of the meeting, township manager Tim Rogers thanked the “people who run for office and serve.”

“It’s a tough job,” said Rogers.

Re-elected commissioners James Boyle and David Mizgorski were sworn in by the honorable Judge Daniel J. Konieczka, followed by newly elected commissioner Conrad Wagner.

Township treasurer Erin Bartkins was also sworn in for another term by Konieczka.

All were accompanied by family members who witnessed the swearing-in process.

After swearing-in was completed, votes were taken to choose the president and vice president for the year. Current president David Shutter and vice president William Cross were both unanimously chosen to continue in their positions for 2022.

Rogers, along with assistant manager Judith Kording, were both also unanimously chosen to continue in their positions by the board.

Board officials also chose to keep township solicitor Harlan Stone of the Babst Calland law firm, delinquent tax collector Jordan Tax Service, earned income tax collector Keystone Collections, civil engineer Matthew Sebastian, and consulting engineers KLH Engineers and Gateway Engineers, among others.

The next Shaler Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Shaler Administration building.
