Tapas Talks, a speaker series in Sewickley that highlights outstanding talent and achievements of individuals in the area, continues to give back to the community.
A donation has recently been made to the Quaker Valley Education Foundation, a non-profit organization formed in 2015 that provides financial assistance to Quaker Valley students planning to learn and major in a STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math or medicine) area.
Each year, the organization awards six awards, ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. Quaker Valley High School seniors send a written request for consideration to the trustees to review. To date, there have been 38 QV seniors receiving this award. The organization’s next appeal for funds will be this fall.
Donations can be sent to theqvef@wmconnect.com or PO Box 174, Sewickley Pa., 15143. The phone number is 412-749-3885.
The third and final event for the subscribers of the 2022 series will be Leslie Braksick, co-founder and senior partner of My Next Season, providing a presentation on “Your Next Season: Creating a Blueprint for What’s Next.” Members enjoy tapas while socializing with friends, neighbors, colleagues and new acquaintances before each lecture. The conversation continues afterwards with dessert, coffee and tea.
The lineup of outstanding speakers continues. Information about the 2023 series will be released in the fall.
