PennDOT officials announced a short-term lane restriction on the Sewickley Bridge in Moon Township and Sewickley Borough will occur tonight, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect to encounter single-lane alternating traffic on the bridge from 7 p.m. Thursday to about 5 a.m. Friday.

Officials said crews from JET Excavating Co. will be doing repair work on an expansion dam on the bridge. Flaggers will assist motorists through the work zone.

This may not be the only traffic adjustment on the bridge this year.

Officials said additional work on the expansion dam is expected to occur, but did not specify what work or when.

Details are expected will be provided prior to the beginning of that work.
