Dean’s List

The following students from the area were recognized for their academic achievement during the fall 2020 semester by being named to the dean’s, president’s or provost’s list at the college or university they attend:

• Centre College: Emma Huckestein of Sewickley. A graduate of Quaker Valley High School, Huckestein’s parents are Raymond and Laurie Huckestein of Sewickley.

• Bucknell University: Ally Demas, Ciara Donohue and Chris Tanabe, all of Sewickley.

• Clarion University: Nathan Cullo and Aliana Haury of Sewickley.

• Geneva College: Amos Luptak of Sewickley.

• Kutztown University: Liam Daniel Beaber of Sewickley.

• University of Utah: Brendan Grzyb of Sewickley.

• Gettysburg College: Autumn Menzock of Sewickley.

Commits to Arcadia University

Michael Hertzberg has committed to play Division III hockey at Arcadia University for the 2021-22 season. Hertzberg is a 20-year-old forward from Sewickley. He is in his second season with the 87’s, and recorded nine points (3g, 6a) in 25 games with the EHL team throughout the 2019-20 season.

Trib Total Media offers pair of scholarships

Trib Total Media is accepting applications for both the Scholarship for Diversity in Media and the Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship.

The Scholarship for Diversity in Media is open to high school seniors who are culturally, ethnically or racially diverse and are planning to study journalism, communication or English writing at a four-year college or university.

The scholarship will include financial assistance of up to $7,500 per year for four years, a guaranteed annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation.

The Jim Borden Memorial Scholarship is offered to high school or college students attending — or planning to attend — a four-year college or university to study journalism, English writing or communication.

The recipient will earn up to $30,000 in scholarship money awarded in annual installments of up to $7,500, an annual internship with Trib Total Media and an offer for full-time employment upon graduation.

Applicants can apply online under the Career & Scholarship Opportunities tab at tribtotalmedia.com.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 31.
