Sewickley area communities seeing their first coronavirus deaths

As coronavirus cases continue to surge in Allegheny County and across the country, the Sewickley area’s numbers remain conservative.

As of Jan. 13, there have been 146 total cases of the novel coronavirus in the Borough of Sewickley since March, according to the latest information provided by an interactive Allegheny County covid-19 map. One death has been reported, and 983 tests have been administered to Sewickley residents.

Sewickley’s case rate is 381 per 10,000 residents.

Since the pandemic began, Sewickley Heights has had 306 cases (one death), Sewickley Hills has had 26 (no deaths), Edgeworth’s count is 42 (one death), Leetsdale has had 41 (no deaths), Leet has had 65 (one death), and Glen Osborne has recorded 13 cases (no deaths).

Of all of the communities, Sewickley Height’s case rate is the highest at 37.8% of residents testing positive.
