Quaker Valley High School commencement at Chuck Knox Stadium in Leetsdale marked the end of another school year and the start of a new chapter in young graduates’ lives.

Teachers and administrators said congratulations and good luck to 135 seniors in the center of the football field June 1.

The podium for guest speakers and honored students was book-ended by the high school concert band stage right and its vocal ensemble stage left.

Several graduates, who pledged to join various branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, led attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Superintendent Tammy Andreyko, high school principal Deborah Riccobelli and school board member Gianni Floro gave congratulatory speeches.

Class of 2023 poet laureate Paige Nichols read her original “Grapevine.”

Honored student speakers Miralhi Taylor-Martin and Paige Frank aspired to inspire their fellow graduates with talks called “Raccoons of Love” and “Who We Are,” respectively.

Families and friends made their way onto the field following a group class photo to close out the ceremony.

More photos from the ceremony are available on the school district’s Facebook page.
