Quaker Valley School District celebrated Homecoming Week Oct. 3-7 at each building across the district. Schools participated in Spirit Week by sporting wacky hair, tacky outfits, pajamas, QV gear and pink out shirts.

High school football players, cheerleaders, band members and color guard participated in pep rallies across the district on Oct. 7, visiting each of the buildings as an opportunity to ramp up school spirit.

Students were then invited to participate in the Homecoming parade from the high school to the football field prior the game that evening. They were also able to stand with the band, cheerleaders, and colorguard to welcome the football team to the field during pregame. This was organized by the building HSAs.

The QVSD 2022 Homecoming King and Queen, Jacob Milletary and Paige Frank, were announced during half-time of the game.

Frank is the 2022 Pennsylvania State Youth of the Year and received first place in the CGI IT Girl Challenge App Development Competition last year. She is also a member of the QV girls basketball team, National Honor Society, Girl Scouts, is the secretary for the Black Student Union, and she volunteers at her church. Paige plans to study computer science at a four-year college after graduation.

Milletary is a four-year member of marching band, cross country and track. He has also participated in the musical and vocal ensemble. After graduation, Jake plans to attend a four-year college where he can continue to be in marching band and on the cross country team.

The Homecoming dance was held at Chuck Knox Stadium on Oct. 8. Students were able to dance, play yard games like Can Jam and cornhole, and generally enjoy a great time with friends. High school principal Dr. Deborah Riccobelli said that 408 students were in attendance.
