Osborne Elementary welcomes new principal

Ben Canan will join the Osborne Elementary School staff starting with the 2022-2023 school year.

He is joining Quaker Valley School District from Fox Chapel Area School District, where he led the SAP, mental health and behavioral teams, in addition to serving as a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.

Canan also brings experience as an acting principal in Mt. Lebanon School District, where he served as the summer programs director. He started his teaching career as a classroom teacher in the Moon Area School District.

In addition to his school experience, Canan is engaged in his community and serves as a public address announcer for the Washington Wild Things.

Once Canan joins the sistrict, current Osborne Elementary School principal Aaron Rea will become coordinator of instructional programs.
