GIFT Movie Night
GIFT (Giving It Forward, Together) is a refreshing, worthy and socially-conscious organization that focuses on validating and empowering seniors and youth.
GIFT has provided much-needed services for the community at every stage and age, and connected with many diverse neighborhoods before and during the pandemic.
On July 31, the organization is hosting A Night at the Movies with GIFT at the Tull Family Theater. “Lives Well Lived,” a documentary by Sky Bergman, will be shown. A Q&A session will follow. Awards will be presented to UPMC CEnter of Engagement & Inclusion and Missy Criss and Kelly Schwimmer.
The $25 ticket price also includes gourmet nibbles, treats and a cocktail. Transportation is available for those over age 65. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, visit giftpgh.org.
Music Explorer Camp
Allegheny Music Academy’s Music Explorer Camp will take place 1 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15-19 at St. Stephen’s Church.
Campers ages 7-14 are welcome. Cost is $340, with 10% off if paid by July 15.
Renowned faculty will teach brass, woodwind, percussion, guitar, ukulele, keyboard, strings, choir and more. Each student participates in small group lessons with instruments provided by Volkwein’s Music.

Senior Men’s Club
An affiliate of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, the Senior Men’s Club topic on July 29 will be the United States Coast Guard Station Pittsburgh and USCG Osage river operations.
Upcoming speakers include Michael Nahas, Esq., estate planning, wills and trusts on Aug. 5; Sarah Buffington of Old Economy Village on Aug. 12; and John P. Dilla, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the dam and locks system of Western Pennsylvania Rivers; Aug. 19.

The Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection, a referral group of business professionals, will meet Aug. 3 at the Eat’n Park on Route 60 in Robinson Township for breakfast from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m.
