Fern Hollow Music Festival set for Sept. 10
Fern Hollow Nature Center will hold its annual fundraiser, the Fall Music Festival, on its grounds at 1901 Glen Mitchell Road in Sewickley Heights from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 10.
Fun for the whole family, the Fall Music Festival will feature local favorites Tru Kin and the Sweetwater Cottage Band. The S’Wearing Hats, an 8-piece band from Cranberry, will close out the show and are sure to get folks up and dancing with their eclectic music from the ’80s, ’90s and a little bit around the edges.
The festival will also offer children’s activities including mini-golf, bungee run, scavenger hunt and more. Festival food and drinks will be provided by BRGR, Altered Genius Brewing and Sewickley Confectionery. Picnics can also be purchased in advance from the Merri Chef or attendees are welcome to bring food and drink.
This year’s festival will also be a celebration of Fern Hollow’s 25th anniversary. Fern Hollow executive director Sam Capezzuto said she is thrilled to have this opportunity to celebrate with the community.
“Fern Hollow is a wonderful asset that serves every family in the Quaker Valley area, it will be fun to celebrate this historic occasion with everyone because the community’s generosity and support has made Fern Hollow what it is today,” she said.
Tickets for the festival are $35 for adults and $20 for children 5-17 years; children under 5 years are admitted free. Fern Hollow Nature Center members will receive a $10 discount on all tickets. There are also sponsorship opportunities for families that are interested in making a direct donation towards environmental education. Sponsorships include tickets to the festival, VIP parking, and VIP seating. Sponsorships start at $100, and monies are used to purchase new equipment and supplies, fund free programming at the center, and help the center keep their cost for programming affordable for local families. Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased in advance online at fhnc.org or by calling 412-741-6136. Limited tickets will also be available at the door.
