Robber shoots store employee at Edgewood market
A man was shot during an armed robbery Tuesday afternoon at an Edgewood market, according to Allegheny County police.
The robbery was reported just before 1:30 p.m. at the Edgewood Avenue Express in the 200 block of Edgewood Avenue.
Police said a suspect entered the store, brandished a handgun and demanded money from a store employee. The suspect fired the weapon, grazing the employee on the abdomen, and fled, police said.
Police said the employee was treated by medics.
The shooting victim returned to work after the shooting, according to news partner WPXI-TV. The employee chased the suspect from the store and no money was taken, the station reported.
