VP Mike Pence to meet with veterans at Beaver County VFW Post
Vice President Mike Pence will visit Rochester, Beaver County next week to meet with veterans supporting President Trump’s campaign, according to a release from the Trump campaign.
The visit is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Pence will be at the Rochester Veterans of Foreign War Post 128, according to the release. No further details were available. A call for comment was not returned.
Post 128 is about 2 miles from the Royal Dutch Shell ethane cracker plant construction site in Monaca.
Trump visited the cracker plant in August, taking credit for the multibillion-dollar project and boasting about his administration’s support of the energy and manufacturing sectors.
The president last visited the region in October to attend a Marcellus shale conference in Downtown Pittsburgh.
Pence has visited Southwestern Pennsylvania several times in recent years, including stops during the 2016 presidential campaign, campaign events supporting 2018 congressional candidate Rick Saccone and visits to the Flight 93 memorial in Somerset County.
Trump plans to hold a campaign rally in Hershey. The vice president is scheduled to take a bus tour of Pennsylvania, with stops in Rochester and Hershey.
Democratic presidential candidates are scheduled to be in Pittsburgh days later for a nationally televised education forum hosted by about a dozen education advocacy and union groups. The forum, scheduled for Dec. 14, will include at least six candidates — Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Joe Biden, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer — and will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Update: Veterans for Trimp changed the time of this event. The story has been updated to state the new time.
