Motorists who travel along the Pennsylvania Turnpike can expect to be detoured by a six-hour lane closure this weekend.
The shutdown is required so crews can remove a disabled tractor trailer in the westbound lanes. Work will impact motorists between the Butler Valley and Cranberry exits.
Lanes will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Sunday.
The tractor trailer is sitting on the berm of the road in a construction zone between mileposts 28 and 31, turnpike officials said.
A suggested detour follows Route 8, Route 228 and I-79.
Drivers who exit at Butler Valley would drive along Route 8 for 6.6 miles before turning onto Route 228 for nearly 9 miles and then taking I-79 South to Exit 77 to get back to the turnpike.
Drivers should allow for extra time since traffic is expected to be slightly heavier on detour roads.
