A paranormal investigator’s claim of hearing a female voice coming from “beneath a pile of dirt” in a Fayette County cemetery Wednesday was unfounded, state police said.
Trooper Johnathon M. Mosier reported he was dispatched to rural Evergreen Cemetery on Morgantown Road in Springhill Township just before 10 a.m. by the unnamed paranormal investigator, who called 911 claiming “he heard a female’s voice screaming, ‘Help. Help, I’m buried alive.’ ”
Dispatchers told Mosier the unnamed investigator said the voice came from “within a pile of dirt that was inside a shed at the cemetery.”
Prior to the arrival of troopers, the man reportedly purchased a shovel and began digging in the vicinity of the shed where he had supposedly heard the female screaming.
“No female was located and troopers cleared the scene and continued patrolling Fayette County,” the brief incident report concluded.
State police said no other information was available.
