Teen charged in drive-by shooting death of Washington woman

Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with homicide and are looking for two others in the drive-by shooting of a 58-year-old woman in Washington earlier this month.

Tyriq Xavier Moss of Washington was arraigned Thursday on multiple charges, including criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm without a license, according to court records.

Emergency responders found Kristin A. Barfield suffering from gunshot wounds shortly after 5 p.m. May 11 on Ridge Avenue.

Barfield was shot while sitting on her front porch with her boyfriend, Tribune-Review news partner WPXI-TV reported.

Barfield was taken to Washington Hospital, where she died.

Police said a witness identified Moss and another man as the shooters, the station reported. Police said they are still looking for Brandon Ronald Allen and Javarr M. Thomas.

Washington police have charged Allen, 31, and Thomas, 27, both of Washington, with offenses including criminal homicide, attempted homicide, aggravated assault and criminal conspiracy, according to court records.

According to WPXI, police said Moss and Allen had agreed to shoot another person and both fired shots that missed their target and hit Barfield multiple times in the chest.

Moss was denied bail and is being held in Washington County Jail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 2.
