A Washington County man was jailed Saturday morning, accused of killing a man earlier this week at a mobile home park in Nottingham Township.

The incident happened Wednesday morning at Mingo Park Estates, state police said.

According to state police, William Jeremiah Slider, 34, hit the victim, Richard W. Morse, 69, in the head with a blunt object, causing his death.

A neighbor found Morse at his home around 5 p.m. Friday and called 911, according to the Washington County Coroner’s Office.

State police filed several charges against Slider including criminal homicide, aggravated and simple assault, robbery, theft, and tampering with evidence, according to court records.

Slider was arraigned Saturday morning. He was denied bail and sent to the Washington County jail.

Slider’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 18.
