Former Republican congressional candidate Rick Saccone was in Washington on Wednesday, and bragged on his Facebook page about storming the Capitol.

The post was removed by early evening, but was captured by various media members and constituents.

Saccone wrote: “We are storming the capitol. Our vanguard has broken through the barricades. We will save this nation. Are u with me?”

Saccone, wearing a blue winter cap with “Trump” written on it, also posted a picture of himself standing with Pennsylvania Sen. Doug Mastriano, R-Adams.

“Bumped into fellow patriot Doug Mastriano at the front of the capitol. What do you think?” Saccone wrote on Facebook.

In another post, Saccone said he was “proud to be in Washington to drive out the rinos, drai[n] the swamp and save America.” (The term “rino” stands for “Republican In Name Only.”)

In a video with the post, he called it the “Save America rally.”

“All of our patriots right here. Hello Mr. President, we love you. Keep doing what you’re doing. We’re with you. Until next time, in God we trust.”

In a post on Tuesday, he wrote that he and his wife would be traveling to D.C. “to rile up the populace for Trump.”

Saccone, 62, of Elizabeth, ran unsuccessfully for the congressional seat held by former U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, who resigned in 2017 after it was reported that he asked his mistress to have an abortion during a pregnancy scare.

Saccone, who previously served in the state House, served in the Air Force as an intelligence officer. He had Trump stumping for him in the days leading up to his loss in the March 2018 special election to U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb.

Saccone then ran and lost again just two months later in the Republican primary for the newly created 14th Congressional District seat now held by U.S. Rep. Guy Reschenthaler.
