Remains found in Fayette County identified as missing 17-year-old girl
Skeletal remains found last week in Fayette County have been identified as a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing in November, according to Coroner Bob Baker.
The remains found in North Union were that of Kaitlin Whoolery, he said. Authorities were led April 16 to an area near Washington Avenue and Hogsett Lane where her remains were discovered.
A forensic anthropologist team helped with the recovery and an autopsy was performed Friday, Baker said. A cause of death has not been released.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Whoolery was last seen Nov. 23.
