Public hearings scheduled via Zoom for proposed Columbia Gas bill hike
Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania customers have the chance to speak publicly on a proposal that would raise monthly bills.
The gas company in April asked to increase operating revenues by about $100.4 million, resulting in a 17.84% increase in customer bills. That means bills averaging $87.57 per month would rise to $103.19 per month, according to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.
Two Zoom hearings are scheduled for July 8.
Those interested in participating can contact the Pennsylvania Office of Consumer Advocate at 1-800-684-6560 by July 7. Customers will testify in the order in which they signed up.
Those not wishing to testify can listen to the meetings. The first session is scheduled for 1 p.m., the second at 6 p.m.
