Police: Woman took $15K from Armstrong County man's home
A woman took $15,000 and four vehicle titles from the home of a man she was staying with in Armstrong County, state police allege.
State police have issued an arrest warrant for Lisa Wolbert, 51, of Cranberry Township.
According to state police, Wolbert had been staying with a 65-year-old man in Madison Township for the past three months while getting back on her feet.
Police said Wolbert went into his house through a window while he was not home around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. She went into the man’s safe and took the $15,000 in $100 bills and the vehicle titles.
The man returned as Wolbert was leaving through the front door. She allegedly had a wooden box in her hand with his passport and personal belongings, police said. He made her put the box down and she left. The man did not know that Wolbert had taken the cash and titles from his safe, police said.
State police are charging Wolbert with theft and receiving stolen property.
Anyone with information about Wolbert’s whereabouts is asked to contact state police at 724-543-2011.
Editor’s note: State police confirmed to the Tribune-Review that all charges filed against Lisa Wolbert in this incident were later withdrawn because the alleged victim decided not to go through with the case.
