Police: Woman left 2 kids alone in car after running out of gas
Police charged a Beaver County woman with endangering her two children after they said she left them alone in a car after running out of gas.
Rochester police charged Valerie M. Fullum, 29, of New Brighton with two counts of endangering the welfare of children on Oct. 3, according to court records. The incident happened Sept. 30.
Investigators claim Fullum left an infant and another child, 9, inside her car when she walked to a gas station on Virginia Avenue in Rochester, the Trib’s news partner, WPXI-TV, reported.
Police said the report they received was that the 9-year-old was seen on top of the roof of the car. When officers arrived, the child had gotten back in the car and was in the driver’s seat, with the keys still in the ignition, the station reported.
The children are unharmed.
Fullum was arraigned Wednesday and released from the Beaver County Prison on a $2,500 bond, according to court records.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 24.
