A Greensburg man was arrested after incendiary devices were thrown at an Indiana County home Saturday, causing a small fire, state police said.

Derrick John Weber, 20, was charged with arson, recklessly endangering another person and criminal mischief. He was released from the Indiana County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Police responded to a home along Route 217 in Burrell Township shortly before 8 a.m. for a report of Molotov cocktail-type devices found outside the house. The owner of the home reported hearing a loud crack around 12:40 a.m. When he looked outside, he saw a “fireball” burning in his front yard, officials said.

In the morning, the man told police he found damage to his vinyl siding, a broken bottle in his yard and an unbroken bottle with a red rag wrapped around the bottle neck.

Police said they observed the unbroken bottle filled with gasoline and reported an odor of gas in the air.

Weber was arrested at his home without incident.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 16.
