Police: Burglar took frozen food from Mercer County ice cream stand

Frozen food worth about $800 was stolen from an ice cream stand in Mercer County, according to state police.

The burglary at Shirley’s Twin Kiss on Perry Highway in Sandy Creek Township on April 29, police said in a release issued Monday.

According to police, the burglar or burglars got into the ice cream stand through a back door.

Once inside, they took frozen food items such as wings, cheese sticks, French fires and vegetables. They also went into the basement through an unlocked door and took more frozen food from a freezer.

The owners of Shirley’s Twin Kiss addressed the theft on their Facebook page.

“To the person(s) who cleaned out our freezer at the Twin Kiss last night, I hope and pray that you were seriously in need of food!” they said. “Just so you know, anyone that knows me would tell you that I am a much better giver than a taker! I would give anyone anything they asked for, so you did not have to steal from me! God Bless You!”

The ice cream stand replenished it stock and opened for its season onMay 1.
