Traffic is seeing along the Parkway West (Interstate 376) near the entrance to the Fort Pitt Tunnels in Pittsburgh.

A 32-year-old Forest County man was killed Friday afternoon when he was hit by a vehicle as he attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of the Parkway West near the Fort Pitt Tunnels, Pennsylvania State Police told Tribune-Review partner WPXI.

Joshua A. Knowlton of Clarington, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:33 p.m., the Allegheny County Medical Examiner said.

Knowlton was crossing the inbound lanes of the busy highway to catch a lift in an Uber ride-sharing vehicle when he was hit at 4:30 p.m., according to WPXI and the medical examiner’s office. The accident occurred between the Route 19 South truck exit and the Route 19 North/Route 51 North exit ramp, PennDOT said on its Twitter account.

UPDATE: Crash on I-376 eastbound between Exit 69B - US 19 Truck South/PA 51 South and Exit 69C - US 19 North/PA 51 North. All lanes closed.
