Pair jailed on drug charges after Indiana traffic stop
A traffic stop in Indiana Borough Thursday resulted in two men being jailed for allegedly having more than 300 bags of heroin, Indiana Borough police said.
Amir Mithcell, 21, of Wilkinsburg, already was wanted by authorities when Indiana police made the stop at about 10 a.m. in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street. Police accused Mithcell of having 272 bags of heroin, 3 grams of crack cocaine and some Xanax pills.
Matthew Pacconi, 33, of Indiana, also was in the car, allegedly with 57 bags of heroin, police said.
Police seized an undisclosed sum of cash in the traffic stop.
Both men were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mithcell also was charged with carrying a handgun without a license.
District Judge Guy Haberl in Indiana arraigned the pair and placed them in the county jail after they failed to post bail. Haberl set bail at $50,000 for Mithcell and at $25,000 for Pacconi.
They face preliminary hearings on Thursday before Haberl.
