Police investigate alleged kidnapping in Overbrook
Pittsburgh police said a man was assaulted and dragged into a vehicle in the city’s Overbrook neighborhood Tuesday evening.
Police responded to a call at the intersection of Saw Mill Run Boulevard and Library Road at about 6:48 p.m. Tuesday. It was reported that a male was assaulted by two males and dragged into a black Chevy Camaro that then fled the scene.
Zone 3 officers later located the car on Arlington Avenue and attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver failed to stop and was pursued, police said.
The driver eventually stopped, then fled on foot, police said. The suspect was not found after police searched the area, according to a report.
Police said the victim was located near the original scene in Overbrook and transported to a local hospital, police said. He was treated for injuries to his head and leg, the report said.
The incident is being investigated.
Police say Beaver County man damaged neighbor’s properties with truck
A man drove his truck through multiple properties in Beaver County on Monday, leaving a trail of destruction and damage in his wake, police said.
Daniel Hays, 60, of Darlington Township is facing multiple charges of reckless driving and felony risking catastrophe.
Hays drove his red pickup through several properties in Koppel borough and hit a porch, went through a fence, and demolished a shed, according to Tribune-Review news partner WPXI.
“It sucks. Plain and simple,” said Koppel resident Angelo Rosati, who owns the shed that was destroyed. “I heard all this racket and noise. I come running out here. I saw my shed looking like that. It’s like, what are you going to do?”
WPXI reports police said Hays had been drinking at a local bar Monday night, left after an argument and drove off at a high rate of speed.
Police said Hays fled the scene after destroying Rosati’s shed, and officers later found his truck in a parking lot.
He is facing two felony charges, two misdemeanors, and three summary offensives.
