Masked suspects steal car in Oakland

University of Pittsburgh Police say two men in black masks and hoodies stole a delivery driver’s car in Oakland.

Just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, the driver exited his vehicle to make a food delivery on the 3500 block of Fifth Avenue when the two thieves approached him.

One male fled up Lothrop Street in the car, the other fled on foot, police said.

No one was injured during the incident.

Pittsburgh and Pitt police continue their investigation.


Person injured after fall from Uniontown parade float

A person was hospitalized Wednesday evening after suffering a fall from a float during Fayette County’s Halloween parade.

The parade made its way through downtown Uniontown featuring local bands, floats and vehicles.

The details of the incident remain unclear, but TribLive news partner WTAE reports the 61-year-old suffered minor injuries.
