Man stabbed in Mt. Washington

A man was stabbed early Thursday in Mt. Washington, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

Police were called about 8 a.m. to the 600 block of Omaha Street.

Officers found a 34-year-old male with stab wounds to his torso. He was taken by Pittsburgh EMS to a hospital and listed in critical condition.

The Crime Scene Unit continues to investigate.

Police investigate robbery in Chateau

Pittsburgh police are investigating a robbery early Friday in the city’s Chateau neighborhood, authorities said.

Officers responded about 4:45 a.m. to the 7-Eleven at 1001 Western Ave.

Police said employees told them a man brandished a gun, went to the counter and demanded money.

When the employees couldn’t get the register open, the suspect stole items from the store and fled out a back door, police said.

It was not clear exactly what the suspect got away with.

No one was reported injured.

Police pursuit ends in Findlay

A police pursuit that began early Friday in Ohio ended up in Findlay Township.

The 30-mile chase traveled through part of Washington County in Pennsylvania and came to an end near Boggs and Potato Garden roads.

Police made multiple arrests at the scene, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

The investigation is ongoing.

North Side road closure

Motorists who use Chestnut Street on the North Side should be aware of an upcoming detour.

A portion of the road will be closed beginning Monday for reconstruction. Crews will upgrade sidewalks, ADA ramps and crosswalks. Work will take place between Spring Garden Avenue and Phineas Street.

Residents will maintain access to their homes.

The project will be conducted in two phases, with this first part expected to run through Jan. 12. The second phase of work, in 2024, will target Tripoli to Phineas streets.

Threat to Burgettstown Area School District

A threat against the Burgettstown Area School District was made Thursday on social media, according to school officials.

It was made by a student in a neighboring district.

The threat was not specific to any student within Burgettstown’s schools, but law enforcement determined it was a general school shooting threat aimed at the district, Superintendent Stephen Puskar said in a letter to families.

“We have no reason to believe the student was on our campus at any time, nor do we have reason to believe the student will come to our campus,” he said.

Additional police presence will be on campus out of an abundance of caution, officials said.

Man missing from Duquesne

Duquesne police need help in finding a missing 71-year-old man.

Duquesne police Chief Thomas Shaw said Miljus was last seen May 12, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

His last bank transaction was in June, according to Shaw.
