Man shot in face in Duquesne, suspect sought

An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of shooting a man in the face in Duquesne on Sunday.

At the request of Duquesne police, Allegheny County homicide detectives responded to the shooting around 9 p.m. in the 2700 block of Duquesne Place Drive, according to a news release.

Authorities found a man with a gunshot wound to the face and took him a hospital in critical condition, police said.

An arrest warrant was issued for Bradley Middlebrook, 33, of Braddock, on charges of aggravated assault, attempted homicide and carrying a firearm without a license.

Police said Middlebrook is Black, stands 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He is known to frequent Duquesne and Braddock and is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

2 men shot in Knoxville early Monday

Two people were shot early Monday in the city’s Knoxville neighborhood, according to police.

Officers from Pittsburgh’s Zone 3 station responded to the area of Bausman Street and Ibis Way after receiving a seven-round ShotSpotter notification, police said.

Police said first responders found a man in stable condition who had been shot in the arm and a second man with critical injuries from a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

Officers said they performed first aid on both men until medics arrived to take them to the hospital for treatment.

Police did not identify the victims. The shootings are being investigated by detectives with the city’s Violent Crime Unit.


Police investigate 2 shootings on same Homewood street

Pittsburgh police are investigating two shootings along Homewood’s Kelly Street on Sunday.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just before 5 a.m. in the 7000 block of Kelly Street, where they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Police said medics took one of the men with critical injuries to a hospital. The second victim arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle in critical but stable condition.

Later in the day, officers from the Zone 5 station responded to the 6800 block of Kelly Street for a ShotSpotter alert just before 4:30 p.m.

Emergency responders found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the shoulder and neck and took him to a local hospital in critical condition.

Detectives from the city’s Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating.


2 face felony charges after fight in Clairton

Two men face felony charges after Allegheny County police were asked to help with an investigation in Clairton early Sunday.

Clairton police were dispatched to the 800 block of Vankirk Avenue around 5:45 a.m. for a report of a fight, according to investigators.

One man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, police said.

After consulting with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office, charges were filed against Marvin Cabbagestalk, 51, of Clairton, for harassment and illegal firearms possession.

Cabbagestalk is recovering at a local hospital from injuries suffered during the altercation, police said.

Deon Ellison, 33, of Clairton, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

Ellison was being held at Allegheny County Jail while awaiting arraignment, police said.
