Electrical fire at Kennywood
No injuries were reported Sunday after a fire at Kennywood, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE-TV.
Crews responded to a report of smoke coming from a manhole near the park’s Thomas Town section.
It was determined to be an underground electrical fire and the line was isolated.
Rides were stopped while crews investigated. The park was open for a private event for Highmark employees.
The park is expected to open Friday for Phantom Fright Nights.
2 shot in East Pittsburgh
Two people were shot late Sunday in East Pittsburgh, authorities said.
An incident was reported around 10:30 p.m. along Prospect Drive.
First responders found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities.
They were taken to the hospital. Their condition was unclear.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS (255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
Police seek help finding Jefferson Hills woman
Police are asking for help to locate a Jefferson Hills woman.
Police said they are looking for Cassandra Jean Murin, 22.
No other information was made public.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
Person injured in McKees Rocks fire
One person was injured in a fire early Monday in McKees Rocks.
Crews responded around 4 a.m. to a house fire on Churchill Street, according to WTAE.
Crews were able to knock down the fire by about 5 a.m.
The injured person was taken to the hospital, but their condition was not clear.
Carnegie Library closed Monday
Carnegie Library’s main campus in Oakland is closed Monday because of a facility issue.
It is the second day in a row that the library is closed.
Library officials encouraged users to visit another site. The next nearest Carnegie branch, along Federal Street on the North Side, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Latest patrol numbers from South Side
Pittsburgh police continue to have focused enforcement on the city’s South Side.
They released the following patrol numbers of incidents over the weekend.
There were five arrests, four traffic stops, 15 traffic citations and 49 non-traffic citations.
The increased patrols are a result of recent concerns from business people and residents. A special unit patrols from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m.
