State police are looking for a Monroeville man charged with stealing a car in Indiana County.

Police allege Dakar Allen Jones, 46, took a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am coupe from a Blairsville woman at about 5 a.m. June 3, outside the Eat’n Park restaurant on Oakland Avenue in White Township.

According to a release police issued at the time, the suspect, who was riding a mountain bike and wearing a gray T-shirt around his face, approached the woman in the restaurant parking lot and ordered her out of the car. He then placed the bike in the car’s trunk and drove away eastbound on Indian Springs Road.

The vehicle was recovered, and investigators eventually identified Jones as the suspect.

Charges were filed Tuesday before Homer City District Judge Susanne Steffee, who issued a warrant for Jones’ arrest.

Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts was asked to contact state police at the Indiana County barracks, at 724-357-1960.
