A Monessen drug dealer man was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in federal prison after being convicted of narcotics violations.
Donald Mitchell, 38, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Cathy Bissoon.
Authorities said Mitchell was a heroin distributor for the Jarran Bell drug trafficking organization.
The investigation included intercepted communications with Bell, including exchanges from December 2014 through April 2015 on 10 different cellphones, as well as surveillance and controlled drug buys.
Authorities said Mitchell received 100 bricks of heroin from a 250-brick shipment from New Jersey and served as a distributor.
The investigation revealed the existence of a number of overlapping and interrelated drug distribution networks at work in multiple municipalities such as Clairton, McKeesport, Port Vue, as well as areas in Westmoreland County, Washington County and New Jersey.
Mithell’s sentence also includes 10 years of supervised release.
