Maggie Hardy and Shawn Knox tied the knot in Colorado Saturday. Hardy is president of 84 Lumber and of Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

Standing on top of Aspen Mountain in Colorado, Maggie Hardy and Shawn Knox tied the knot.

Hardy, the billionaire president of building supply company 84 Lumber and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, is the daughter of Joseph A. Hardy III, who founded both businesses.

After meeting last year, the Pittsburgh-area couple traveled to Aspen, Colo., where they held a small, private wedding, followed by a reception at The Aspen Mountain Club on March 30. The couple had been engaged since March 9, according to Maggie Hardy’s Facebook page.

Wearing an off-white dress with a long-white shawl, Hardy walked toward Knox who was standing under a clear arch covered in white flowers. With a view of snow covered mountains, Hardy and Knox said, “I do.”

Hardy has served as president of Washington County-based 84 Lumber since 1992 and lead the company to over $1 billion in sales in 1994 and over $2 billion in sales in 2004, overseeing the day-to-day operations of over 250 stores, manufacturing plants, custom shops and wood product centers nationally.

In 2000, she added to her responsibilities when she took over leadership of Nemacolin, and has led the resort to receive recognition from the travel industry like AAA, Forbes Five-Star, Condé Nast Travelers and more.

Forbes identified Hardy as being worth $1.3 billion in 2017.

Hardy and Knox are currently on a surprise honeymoon, said Amy Smiley, vice president of marketing for 84 Lumber, and could not be immediately reached for comment.
